Evon Marie Simmons, 73, of Brandywine, WV went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, exactly nine months from the date that Edwin George "Eddie" Simmons, the love of her life passed.  She lost a very brave and courageous battle with cancer that she had been fighting for the last ten months.  Evon was looking forward to going to her final home to stroll across heaven while holding Edwin's hand and to be with the Lord.

Born July 4, 1945 at Durbin, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie Hedrick and Zetta Arbogast Bennett.

Evon was a 1964 graduate of Circleville High School, a homemaker, a caregiver and a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church.  She loved spending time with and taking care of her family.  She was a wonderful friend to many, a perfect mother and grandmother, and a great inspiration to anyone who knew her.  She was full of hope, faith and love.

On September 26, 1965, she married Edwin George "Eddie" Simmons who preceded her in death on February 13, 2018.

Loretta Cook (Wesley) of Brandywine, WV

One son –

Robert Simmons (Tina) of Lacey Springs, VA

One sister –

Mary Mick of Circleville, WV

Seven grandchildren and

Nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie "Joe" Hedrick, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Brandywine, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Rev. Aaron Himes officiating.

Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
