Eston Smith Simmons, Jr., 80, of Franklin, WV passed away at his home on Friday, November 16, 2018.

He was born March 1, 1938 in Franklin, WV and was the son of the late Eston S. Simmons, Sr. and Alice Daugherty Simmons.   He was raised on Reeds Creek with his sisters.

"Petie" was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Washington Gas in 1992.  He lived in Northern Virginia until 2000, then he moved back home to Franklin.  He enjoyed country life, wildlife, hunting, fishing, square dancing, music, collecting antiques, repairing clocks and all things mechanical. He served the community as a volunteer for the Franklin Moose Lodge.

Brenden Michael Erickson

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Ruth Eye and Margaret Lantz.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, WV.

A reception for family and friends will be held in the Social Room at the Franklin Moose Lodge from 4:00 - 6:00 PM Tuesday.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
