Mrs. Eleanor Louise Hartman of Manassas, Virginia passed away at age 70 on August 12, 2010. She dedicated her life to her family, children and grandchildren. She was a loving housewife, mother and child-care provider for many children throughout her lifetime. She touched many lives with her smile and compassion for others. Eleanor was a member of the Manassas Church of the Brethren, where she served as a deacon and worked in the nursery for over 18 years. She recently celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary to her beloved husband, Bill Hartman. Surviving in addition to her husband are - Two daughters and sons-in-law - Bobbie Hartman-Carl and her husband, John Robert Carl II of Manassas Park,VA Billie Hartman-DeVooght and her husband, Larry DeVooght of Franklin, TN One sister - Judith Bland of Baltimore, MD Four brothers Tom Warner of Moyers, WV Wendell Nelson of Franklin, WV Billy Nelson of Franklin, WV Richard Nelson of Roanoke, VA Five grandchildren - Shawna Marie Carl, Shavon Ashley Carl, Susan Elaine Carl, John Robert Carl, Jr. and Joshua Ryan Carl. And five great-grandchildren - Saniya Lynae Thornton, Savina Simmone Thornton, Devin Chase Thornton, Jr., Amarius Antonio Tibbs and Sareyiah Louise Ellis. She is preceded in death by siblings Bobby Arbaugh and Dovie Welton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Kimble Funeral Home, 206 South Main Street, Franklin, West Virginia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Pastor Sam Harper officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
