Edwin George "Eddie" Simmons, 72, of Brandywine, WV passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at his home.

He was born December 16, 1945 in Franklin, West Virginia and was the son of the late Robert Johnson and Nola Hartman Nesselrodt and the stepson of the late Raymond Simmons.

Eddie worked as a saw operator at Ethan Allen in Bridgewater, Virginia for over 30 years.  He was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church.

On September 26, 1965, he married Evon Hedrick Simmons, who survives.

Loretta Cook (Wesley) of Brandywine, WV

Robert Simmons (Tina) of Lacey Springs, VA

Two brothers –

Stanley Simmons (Kay) of Upper Tract, WV

Jerry Simmons of Petersburg, WV

Seven grandchildren -
Daniel Borror, Christine Branham, Laura Sulser, Timothy Hook, Heather Profitt, Autumn Simmons and John Mauzy, Jr.

And eight great-grandchildren -
Kyle Branham, Cameron Branham, Cayden Branham, Addylin Sentman, Lexi Susler, Tanessa Seabolt, Noah Profitt and Walker Loy Hook

Preceding him in death were three brothers – Billy Ratliff, Everette Shrader and Raymond "Buddy" Simmons and two sisters – Dorothy Hartman and Shirley Miller.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM Monday, February 19, 2018 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 PM Monday with Pastor Aaron Himes officiating.

Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
