Mr. Edward Charles Scott, 81, of Franklin, West Virginia passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg. He was born July 1, 1933 in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late Charles Edward Scott and Ann Manvell Scott. He had worked as a maintenance chief engineer for Woodward & Lothrop Dept. Store, Neiman-Marcus Dept. Store and Marriott Hotel Corp. in Texas. He was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a Master Gardener. He first married Ruth Moyers Scott in 1955 for 27 years and they remarried in 2008. Surviving in addition to his wife are - Two daughters - Shirley Scott Kramer (& Alan) of Melbourne, Australia Lisa Van Diest (& Dave) of Rice, MN One stepdaughter - Patricia Jubera of Texas Two stepsons - Ronald Ballew of Lawton, Oklahoma David Ballew of Texas Three sisters - Betty Slaughter of Spotsylvania, VA Joan Ellis (& William) of Culpeper, VA Shirley Scott of Virginia One brother - Lawrence Scott (& Charlotte) of Woodbridge, VA One daughter-in-law - Connie Hartman of Franklin, WV Three grandchildren Four great-grandchildren And two special companions, Molly and Dandy He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Edward Scott II on September 6, 2001. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin with Pastor Tom Hanks officiating. Military services will be conducted at the funeral home by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM on Friday at Kimble Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to PAWS.
