Edna Mildred "Meg" Kimble, 93, of Upper Tract, West Virginia passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022 at her home, with her daughter, Denise, at her side.

She was born September 12, 1928 at Upper Tract and was the daughter of the late Eston McKinley Kile and Lucinda Edith Kimble Kile.

Meg was married to Ison B. Kimble, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1994.  She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Dennis Kimble, on October 26, 2016, by brothers, Harlan Kile, Herald Kile, Bunis Kile and Keith Kile and sisters, Kathleen Simmons, Evelyn Kesner, Maxine Mowery and Shirley R. Kile.

Always known for her impeccable appearance, that included her red curled hair and her painted nails, Meg held several jobs in the Upper Tract area during her long and healthy life.  Most notably, she will always be remembered for the 35 years that she spent working at Kile's Grocery in Upper Tract.  The youngsters at that time remember her for her tremendous generosity giving them candy and a pop when they would stop in.

Meg would never let anyone stop by and visit without feeding them, and sometimes, it wasn't past her to tell you "you look like you have put on a little weight!"

She was a very kind and generous lady who took pride in both her appearance and that of her home.  She was always wanting to be outside pulling weeds, weed eating and planting flowers.  Her "Special Nephew" and neighbor, Brad Kile, was a tremendous help to her with her yard or grass or anything that she may need assistance with; her daughter-in-law, Donna Kimble, would stop to check on her morning and evening, and her neighbor, Sam Kimble, also helped her and checked in on her regularly.

Meg had a sweet tooth, and her favorite treat was glazed doughnuts.  No trip to Harrisonburg was complete without a drive through Sam's Hot Dog Stand for hot dogs and a sweet tea from McDonald's.

She was a faithful member of Christ Central Community Church in Upper Tract.  She was always so tickled at all the Happy Birthday wishes she would get each year around her birthday.  Meg was a wonderful and proud Christian woman who will be deeply missed by her family, friends and many people of Upper Tract and Pendleton County.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, April 14 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 15 with Pastor Sam Harper officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract.
