Rev. Ed Null, 75, of Upper Tract, WV, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at his home. He was born December 11, 1933 at Parkersburg, WV and was the son of the late Clarence E. Null and Ella Naomi Archer Null. Rev. Null came to Pendleton County in January, 1960 and served as a minister until July, 1960 for the Franklin Evangelical United Brethren Charge, which included three churches - Franklin EUB, East Dry Run and Harpers Chapel. On July 31, 1960, he married Nancy Huber and moved to Marietta, OH to continue his education at Salem College. In 1962, he began pastoring the Pendleton/Grant County Charge, which consisted of the Mt. Horeb, Reeds Creek and St. John's Churches. When the Methodist & EUB churches merged in 1967, the Upper Tract and Gordon's Chapel congregations were added to his charge. In 1973, he and other congregants established Christ Central Community Church, where he was a member and served as their dedicated pastor until his retirement in 2004. Being one of the founders of the Country Store Opry in the 1960's, he enjoyed many performances with the group, publishing several CDs and most recently performing with them at the Wheeling Jamboree. He had served as a chaplain with Market Place Ministries at Pilgrim's Pride in Moorefield, WV for the past four years. Surviving in addition to his wife of 49 years are his son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Jennifer Null, and his granddaughter, Elizabeth of Winchester, VA. He was preceded in death by one brother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Christ Central Community Church near Upper Tract, WV with Pastor Sam Harper, Rev. Wilton Thomas and John Rockiki officiating. Burial will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, October 9, 2009 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, West Virginia.
