Douglas Keith Bowers, 72, of Chesterfield, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2015. He was born May 3, 1943 in Great Mills, Maryland and was the son of the late Cletus and Merlee Smith Bowers (formerly of Ruddle, Pendleton County, WV). Doug was a construction worker, loved living on and around the water, had a passion for boating, enjoyed Jimmy Buffett music, and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by - One daughter - Sherry Louka (and her husband, Alain) of Quinton, VA Two sisters - Phyllis Ascue of Chesterfield, VA Pamela Bowers Smith of St. Petersburg, FL Ten Grandchildren - Tiffany Heese (& her husband, Dr. Paul Heese) K. B. Updike, Jr. Nathaniel, Philip, Jacob and Joseph Louka Nicholas Louka and his wife, Kristina Patrick Louka and his wife, Lauren Tara Sperzel and her husband, Jim Demetria Borges and her husband, Matthew Seven great-grandchildren and two on the way A special niece - Robin Ascue A special nephew - Daniel Kronick A special friend - Kenny Updike, Sr. His daughter, Sherry's mother, Joanne Panek And many loving friends. His family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Morrissett Funeral & Cremation Service, 6500 Iron Bridge Road, Richmond, VA and a memorial service will be held there beginning at 5:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Upper Tract, West Virginia.
