Mrs. Dorothea F. Bowers, 80, of Franklin, WV passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at her home. She was born February 26, 1931 at Franklin, WV and was the daughter of the late Willie C. Simmons and Dorothy Hammer Simmons. A 1949 graduate of Franklin High School, she had worked for Dr. Richard Boggs and Dr. H. Byrd Teter. She was a member of Laurel Hill Church of Christ and the West Virginia Farm Bureau. On December 22, 1951, she married Dyer Bowers, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2007. Surviving are - One son and daughter-in-law - Danny Ray and Paula Ann Bowers of Franklin, WV A twin sister - Dorothy and her husband, Jesse Nelson of Franklin, WV One brother - Willie Wayland Simmons of Richmond, VA Two grandchildren - Justin Bowers of Keyser, WV Ashley Bowers of Keyser, WV She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Simmons. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin, West Virginia with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, January 27 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
