Mr. Donald L. Thompson, 72, of Timberville, VA died Sunday October 28, 2012 at Harrisonburg Health & Rehab Center. He was born May 30, 1940 at Reeds Creek, West Virginia and was the son of the late Bessie Alice Hinkle Thompson. Donald was a Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a carpenter, worked in construction and was Brethren by faith. On December 1, 1964, he married Ethel Pearl Cayton Thompson, who survives. Also surviving are One daughter - Debra Cayton (& Lester Propst, Jr.) of Franklin, WV One son - Duane Thompson of Timberville, VA One brother - Jerry Thompson of Hinton, VA And his special canine companion - Bo Preceding him in death were - Two brothers - Alston Thompson and Sherman Thompson Three sisters - Ivanelle Moyers, Polly Mallow and Lilly Smith Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Kimble Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, WV with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with military graveside services conducted by the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin. In Donald's honor, it is requested that family members and friends attending his services come attired in blue jeans. Memorials may be made to the Broadway Rescue Squad.
