Dolly J. Sponaugle, 92, of Franklin, WV passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA.

She was born August 27, 1928 at Franklin, and was the daughter of the late Vertie Warren Waggy and Helen Blanche Mitchell Waggy.

Dolly was a graduate of Franklin High School, a homemaker and a member of Franklin United Methodist Church, where she taught Children's Sunday School for over thirty years and had one of the truest alto voices the church choir ever knew. Flowers, crocheting, quilting, baking, squirrel hunting and spending time on the farm were some of her favorite pastimes.  She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her children by gathering eggs in their layer houses or babysitting her grandchildren.

On June 25, 1946 she married Berlie Sponaugle who survives.

One great-grandson -

Greysen Eckard

Numerous nieces and nephews

And her four-legged companion -

Susie

She was preceded in death by one son, Jed Bradley Sponaugle; one brother, Warren Reid Waggy and one sister, Bonnie Glover. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Dolly's request was that her family commemorate her life privately with interment and a graveside service at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin with Rev. Michael Loudermilk officiating.
