David V. Smith, Sr., 51, of Franklin, WV passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia after being a passenger in a pickup truck that was struck by a falling tree at Brandywine, WV.

He was born June 22, 1970 at Cumberland, Maryland, and was the son of the late Robert W. Smith and Carolyn "Joy" Guynn Smith.

David worked as a logger.  He was an avid Harley rider, a hunter and outdoorsman.

Candice Bosley (& Chris) of Fountain, WV

Two brothers -

Terry Dohm (& Melanie) of Columbia, SC

Bobby Smith of Burlington, WV

And two granddaughters -

Kennedi Smith and Luella Smith

He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Dohm.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, July 23, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Dohm officiating.
