David H. Swecker, 81, of Franklin, West Virginia passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Pendleton Manor.

He was born June 22, 1940 at Cave, WV and was the son of the late Tressel Flemings Swecker and Edith Grace Simmons Swecker.

David was a 1958 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Bridgewater College.  He had a love for cattle farming and was a member of the Potomac Valley Soil Conservation and the American Angus Association.  He was a member of Harpers Chapel Church and later Franklin Presbyterian Church.  He had a passion for antiques and learned all he could about family history.  David was a member of the Pendleton County Historical Society, and had a wealth of knowledge and information about the county that he readily shared with others.  He also enjoyed hunting.

On August 29, 1964, he married Patricia Wheaton Swecker, who survives.

He was preceded in death by a son, David Earle Swecker (1969 – 2020) and a nephew, Daniel Wesley Swecker (1986 – 2012).

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 18 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sam Sponaugle officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract, WV.
