David Allen Dyer, 81, of Brandywine, WV passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA.

Born February 2, 1938 at Fort Seybert, he was a son of the late George A. Dyer and Hazel Ruddle Dyer.

He was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School, and a graduate of Potomac State College and West Virginia University.  He worked for the Soil Conservation Service for twenty years, retired from Grafton Coal Company in 1992, and then he moved back to the family farm at Fort Seybert and became a farmer.  He was a member of the Fairview-Bethel United Methodist Church.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Simmons Dyer, and his brother, Roger W. Dyer.

A son –

Greg (& his wife, Toniue) of Brandywine, WV

Four grandsons –

Dustin Dyer (& Jessica), Joseph Buck, Josh Stevens and Jacob Buck

And one great-grandson –

Garrett Dyer

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12 with Pastor Aaron Himes officiating.

Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery at Fort Seybert.

Jed Conrad, John Bolyard, Bill Berthy, Tracy Ruddle, Joseph Buck and Joshua Stevens will serve as his pallbearers.
