Opal "Darlene" Bennett, 76, of Franklin, WV and Damascus, MD died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, MD. She was born August 1, 1933 at Franklin, WV and was the daughter of the late Scott McCoy and Jessie Smith McCoy. She retired after 20 years from Weinchel Engineering and was a member of the Walnut Street United Methodist Church. On January 3, 1955 she married Harlan W. Bennett, who survives. Also surviving are - Two sons - Steven (& Debbie) Bennett of Damascus, MD Michael Dale Bennett (& Cheryl Walker) of Damascus, MD Two sisters - Betty M. Sinnett of Franklin, WV Starr Hedrick of Upper Tract, WV And two grandchildren - Steven Kyle Bennett Jaime Lynn Bennett She was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood McCoy and one sister, Thelma Williams. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Walnut Street United Methodist Church in Franklin, WV with Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery at Franklin. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, December 4, 1009 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.
