Dale E. "Mark" Thompson, 79, of Upper Tract, WV passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at Pendleton Manor in Franklin.

He was born April 10, 1939 at Tract Mountain near Ruddle, WV and was the son of the late Ona Thompson, Sr. and Lillie Mae Meadows Thompson.

He was a farmer and worked for Mallow Farms at Upper Tract. Mark was a member of the Reeds Creek United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the South Branch Vol. Fire Dept.

On October 14, 1961, he married Mary Etta Miller Thompson, who preceded him in death on March 14, 1996.  Four brothers, Leo Meadows, Ona Thompson, Jr., Ralph Thompson and Loy Thompson; one grandson, Zack Jewell and one daughter-in-law, Diana Thompson also predeceased him.

Seven grandchildren –

Andrew Thompson, Brittany Smith, Sheena Payton, Nicholas Thompson, Hayley Kesner, Brian Thompson and Hunter Jewell.

And seven great-grandchildren

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, February 11, 2019 at the Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 12 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stanley Kile officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract, WV.
