Clark Wayne Shreve, 66, of Princeton, West Virginia, passed away on January 15, 2021.  Clark was born in Petersburg, West Virginia, on May 19, 1954, to Estyl C. Shreve and Gertie Kimble Shreve.  He was raised with his family in Smoke Hole, and later in Franklin.

Clark graduated from Franklin High School in 1972 and West Virginia University in 1976, with his degree in Civil Engineering.  He was then hired by the West Virginia Department of Highways in Princeton, West Virginia, where, through his work and determination, he rose to be the District Bridge Engineer for the Department of Highways District Ten before his retirement.

In high school, Clark was a three-sport athlete, and was a proud member of Franklin High School's baseball, basketball, and football teams.  His love of sports was a lifelong passion—starting from sitting rapt by the radio, listening to games being played by his lifelong favorite teams, which coincided with his love of travel, to include multiple trips with his son, Ryan, to venerated locations: Lambeau Field, Mountaineer Field, Yankee Stadium, and the West Virginia University Coliseum.  As an avid West Virginia University fan, he enjoyed regularly attending football and basketball games, and cherished Ryan's time in both the Pride of West Virginia, The Mountaineer Marching Band, as well as the Basketball Varsity Pep Band.

Clark was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Franklin, West Virginia.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Gertie Kimble Shreve; his uncles, Loy Shreve and Denton Kimble and an aunt, Goldie Kimble George.

A private visitation and service will be held at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, with interment to follow at Shreve Cemetery.  A memorial and celebration of life service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family wishes to express a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Princeton Community Hospital, who assisted Clark during this difficult time.
