Mr. Carroll Dale Kile, 76, of Franklin, West Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

He was born April 12, 1940 at Kline, West Virginia and was the son of the late George Arthur Kile and Cleta Mae (Mallow) Kile.

Carroll was a 1958 graduate of Franklin High School.  He spent his life as a steward of the land.  He was a farmer who loved his animals (especially his sheep and four-legged companion, Lady).  Each year he planted a garden and would share his bounty through the many corn roasts that he hosted for friends and family.  Each corn roast would end with a helping of homemade ice cream for everyone.  Before becoming a full-time farmer, he was employed by Hanover Shoe Factory for 13 years.

Carroll was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he served in various council positions and as a Trustee.  He will be remembered for his awesome pancake mixing and flipping skills and for always having Lifesavers ready to share.  The children in the congregation will remember him for his many silly faces which kept them entertained during the service.  He was a member of the Pendleton County Farm Bureau and a charter member and currently serving as the president of the Franklin Ruritan Club.

Carroll will be remembered for his sense of humor, the enjoyment he got from traveling to concerts and plays, for his years spent calling square dances in the area, and for his love of dancing.

Carroll has three children -

Dale Kile of Franklin, WV and special friend, Tish and daughter, Sara

James William Kile of Harrisonburg, VA and wife, Susan and children, Garrett, Gage and Genna

Kathleen Lotspeich of Morgantown, WV

Eleanor Triem of Eugene, OR

Two brothers –

Rev. Stanley Kile of Franklin, WV and wife, Ruth

Samuel Keith Kile of Pendleton Manor, Franklin, WV

and a very special person in Carroll's life was Ms. Wanda Pitsenbarger of Franklin, WV.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard Kile and George Arlin Kile and one sister, Dortha Thompson.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 6:00 PM Sunday, November 27 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 28 at Faith Lutheran Church in Franklin with Revs. Jason and Jess Felici officiating.
