Carolyn Johnston Tingler, 85, of Bartow, WV died Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center in Elkins, WV.

She was born August 2, 1937 at Bemis, WV and was the daughter of the late Jesse Johnston and Monna Raines Johnston.

She had worked at Hanover Shoe and was a member of the Circleville Presbyterian Church.

On December 30, 1979, she married Virgil "Henry" Tingler, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2006.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Odell Johnston, and two sisters, Jean Hinkle and Eva Gail Gum.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, September 12, 2022 at Circleville Presbyterian Church.

A funeral service will be held at the Circleville Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13 with Pastor Fletcher Hutcheson officiating.

Interment will be at the Tingler-Hedrick Cemetery.

Carolyn loved animals, so in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pocahontas County, 410 2 ^nd Avenue, Marlinton, WV  24954.
