Carl Eugene Rexrode, 85, of Lynchburg, VA and formerly of Pendleton County, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019.

Born in Franklin on May 5, 1933, he was a son of the late Oliver Dice Rexrode and Sarah Louvada Rexroad Rexrode.

Carl was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War.  He retired from GE/Ericsson, was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church and was a a loving father and grandfather who loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his children -

Lonnie (& Jeannie) Rexrode of Greensboro, NC

Jonell (& Mark) Roberts of Lynchburg, VA

Daryl (& Tracey) Rexrode of Forest, VA

Lavada Pedro of Lynchburg, VA

Eleven grandchildren - Felicia White, Holland Rexrode, Gavin Rexrode, Addisen Pedro, Dilon Pedro, Eian Pedro, Sage Pedro, Katie Rhodes, Austin Taylor, Zachery Roberts and Tanner Roberts

One great-grandson - Tristan Warner

And a brother-in-law -

Gerald Carbaugh of Lansing, MI

Carl was preceded in death by four brothers, Olie, Mahlon, Jake and Roy and two sisters, Reba and Pauline.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 6:30 PM Monday, February 4 at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA where a funeral service will follow at 6:30 PM Monday with Pastor David O'Brien officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon - 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 5 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin, WV where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM Tuesday with Pastors Jason and Jess Felici officiating.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Franklin, WV.

Military graveside services will be conducted by members of the Pendleton County Veterans Honor Guard.
