Carl G. Kimble, Sr., 96, of Petersburg, WV passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg.

He was born September 7, 1922 at Smoke Hole and was the son of the late John E. Kimble and Zadie Kisamore Kimble.

He was a lifelong farmer, drove the Smoke Hole school bus route for ten years, was an operating engineer for IUOE Local 132 for 52 years and worked on the pipeline for 25 years.

He married Elloween Virginia Kesner in 1941, and she preceded him in death on January 22, 1972.  Five brothers, Virgil Kimble, Eston Kimble, Alvie Kimble, Ison Kimble and Harlan Kimble and five sisters, May Kimble, Arvella Cobb, Dolly Kile, Joy Lambert, and Evelyn Huffman also predeceased him.

His second wife, Arlena Riggleman Alt, whom he married in December of 1972, survives.

Thelma Mullenax (& husband, Carl) of Petersburg, WV

Six grandchildren –

Tom Kimble, Tammy Smith, Tonia Minor, Shawn Kimble, Shane Kimble and Shannon Kimble

Five step-grandchildren –

Chris Alt, Hayley Basagic, Susie Wilson, Kim Veach and Kent Alt

Ten great-grandchildren -

Jennifer Kimble, Matthew Kimble, Colt Smith, Dusty Smith, Dillon Smith, Jessie Kimble, Kristin Kimble, Alex Kimble, Tucker Minor and Kinley Minor

Fourteen step-great-grandchildren -

Carson Alt, Case Alt, Cali Alt, Cambree Alt, Carlee Alt, Britlee Basagic, Korbett Hammer, Whitney Styles, Sydney Nesselrodt, Bailey Morris, Cole Alt, Cade Alt, Alon Wilson and Aliya Wilson

And one great-great-grandchild –

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturday, July 27, 2019 at Kimble Funeral Home, 80 South Main Street, Franklin where a funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 28 with Pastor Sam Harper officiating.

Interment will be at Cherry Hill Cemetery at Upper Tract.
