Brandon Lee Kelly, 39, of Marlinton, West Virginia died Sunday, August 18 at his home.

He was born September 24, 1984 at Low Moor, Virginia and was the son of Tony Lee Kelly and Rita Kathleen (Wilson) Kelly of Marlinton.

A 2003 graduate of Pocahontas County High School, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Gunner's Mate for four years, being deployed twice for support on Navy ships.  He later served in the Army National Guard for six years.  Brandon was a Pocahontas County Deputy Sheriff for seven years, a U.S. Mail Carrier for the City of Marlinton for two years, served as Pocahontas County 911/Emergency Manager Deputy Director for three years, worked at Denmar Correctional Center and then transferred to Anthony Correctional Center.  He was a member of the Minnehaha Springs United Methodist Church.

On September 17, 2016, he married Kristen Elizabeth (Nicholas) Kelly, who survives.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, August 23 at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday with Kyna Moore officiating.  Military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.

Inurnment at McElwee Cemetery will be private.

Memorials may be made in Brandon's name to any PTSD organization.
