All are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service in remembrance of Bobby Eugene Puffenbarger at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Richard W. Homan Memorial Park, 10739 Sugar Grove Road, Sugar Grove, with Pastor Jerry Smith and members of the Army Honor Guard officiating.

Bobby Eugene Puffenbarger, 77, of Waverly, OH and formerly of Sugar Grove, WV, beloved Husband, Daddy and Pap-Pap, went to his heavenly home on Friday, January 23, 2026.

He was born on August 23, 1948, in Stony Run, West Virginia and was the son of the late Lester Puffenbarger and Glenna Elizabeth (Smith) Puffenbarger.

Bobby was a United States Army Veteran and served in Vietnam as an Aircraft Maintenance Crewman and Helicopter Door Gunner.  He received many awards and badges while in the Army, including The Purple Heart, Sharpshooter Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/Device and Aircraft Crewman Badge.

After the military, Bobby made a lifelong career out of being a heavy equipment operator for multiple construction companies through the years.

He was a member of St. Paul Independent Lutheran Church in Moyers, West Virginia, and would often remind his daughter and grandchildren not to forget that faith in Jesus Christ is what makes us strong.

Bobby was known for his joking personality, and he always had a smile for everyone.  He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, carpentry, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

On December 21, 2021, Bobby married Lula Spencer Puffenbarger, who survives.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Therman Puffenbarger, and Kenneth "K D" Puffenbarger, and a sister, Charlene Parrish.

Bobby was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who came to know him.  He was very loving, genuine and generous, and did right to his ability toward everyone important in his life.

In honoring his wishes, his body has been cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
